I was born in New Zealand some 69 years ago. I retired from a diverse career in both the Private sector and later Government and non-government sector. My positions have allowed me to work and live in many countries and with many diverse communities around the world.
I now live in Nelson Bay NSW Australia. A few months ago I was officially declared a wrinkly and retired. Since then I have been able to spend much of my time engrossed in creativity which up until now has been just a life-long hobby restricted by scarcity of usable time.
My chosen Media is Digital Art. In a short time I have exhibited in both public and private collections and my work has been used for commercial and commissions such as logos, and corporate marketing.
I am particularly inspired by the natural world and relish the challenge of capturing its organic grace in such a versatile but non-traditional medium. Transforming the ordinary or mundane into objects of intrigue is a crucial part of my process. Through my practice I seek to use art and creativity as tools for change and create work that is intended to be accessible to all people.
My work is drawn from my own memory or external influence to create works that are abstracted and expressional. I work intuitively and aim to communicate the powerful beauty of my subject matter. I also use different types of electronic applications, to create a layered effect which reveals the depth and life of my subject matter. Every piece is assembled from my thoughts, feelings, ideas and experiences. Personal and raw, fragmented and reassembled, it is through my artistic freedom and the ability to express a fragment of feeling, a memory or an impression in an un-prescribed way that a flow of creativity is allowed to emerge. Every work is a product of unique creative experience.
